Visited Athens to celebrate with old friends, re-visit old places, and eat as many octopus as we can find.

We arrived on Thursday with a plan to make jetlag work for us by proper application of aperol spritzes, sunshine and ibuprofen. I hurt my foot a few weeks ago, but I’ll be damned if I’m not going to walk around the acropolis again.

The museum wasn’t yet open last time I was here, back in 2003. The display of the frieze is excellent, and really shows off what the British stole and refuse to return.

The wedding rave on Saturday night went until morning, and our outfits were on point, if a little sweaty. We took the first metro train home, did a little photoshoot in the nearly empty cars, and then watched the sun rise from our rooftop.

One more day to relax and shop, and then head to the islands.
