After the terrible smoke last of year, we decided to take month away from the Sierras and spend it in the Pacific Northwest instead. It was lovely to spend time in another city and explore the Cascades and Olympics.

Long weekend in the Big Easy with Ruth, Shane, Shani and Gimmels.
Sometimes you just need to go to Las Vegas to eat as much as you can in 36 hours.
We took advantage of a cheap direct flight and lower covid numbers to travel to a part of Mexico we haven’t been before. It’s past Dia de los Meurtos, but the birria tacos and tequila still flowed freely.
With the smoke just about unbearable in the mountains, we spent a few weeks along the coast. Drove from Truckee to San Luis Obispbo all the way up to Corvallis and back, visiting friends and taking photos along the way.
