My last remaining grandparent passed away in the fall, but her extended circle of family and friends had a wonderful celebration of her long life this spring.

With the race tighter than “a too-small bathing suit on a too-long car ride back from the beach” (thanks Dan Rather), Ruth and I headed up to Reno to help out the Bernie campaign before the caucus.
For my annual visit to the east coast, I started at a wedding in Harrisburg, then to an anniversary party in Albany, then seeing old and new friends in Boston, wood stacking and lobster eating in Strafford, beach walking and Scrabble-playing in Maine, and finally some home time in Norwich. Whew.
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a venue! The Lyford House is a beautiful Victorian estate by the bay in Tiburon CA, preserved by the Audubon Society as part of a bird preserve. They have a lovely field for the ceremony, and ample parking for food trucks.
