Adventures at home, abroad, and online

Summer Visits

With our friends and family fully vaccinated, we welcomed visitors from the bay and east coast to come enjoy the mountain air. We took folks paddling on Webber Lake, floating the Truckee, kayaking on the west shore, gardening in our back yard, and biking on the high peaks. Fun times!

Lunar Eclipse

Woke up super early for the Flower Moon to photograph it reflecting in Lake Tahoe. It was worth it.

Mountain Biking Moab

Spent a week in Moab enjoying the trails, sunshine, and national park with Jen, Ruth and Whiskey.

Death Valley Photos

I took a photo course with Jeff Sullivan and Lori Hibbett who know the park and environments incredibly well. I’ve been to the park before, but never experienced it quite like this. I don’t think I’ve seen five consecutive sunrises and sunsets since summer camp, and it was refreshing to be out of the house and somewhere new. Technically they pushed me on exposure bracketing, choosing good compositions, and just being in place for the best light. It was a great experience, and I hope to be able to travel and shoot with them again.

Hanukkah 2020

The miracle of lights hits a little different this year. While we can’t gather in person, we will still light candles, eat latkes, spin the dreidel, and enjoy as much gin-and-tonicah or holiday nog as you wish.
