Adventures at home, abroad, and online

Tribune Tower

Transport Oakland organized another awesome tour of a historic Oakland building. The Tribune Tower has one of the only neon clockfaces in the world, originally built in 1923 and now maintained by John Law, one of the founders of Burning Man.

16th Street Station

Ruth arranged a private tour of this beautiful old station with TransportOakland. It used to be the end of the transcontinental railroad, now it’s a sign of the new town.

Eastern Sierras

Visited Karen at her dude ranch for a surprise Fourth of July.

Oak Island

Visited the beach in North Carolina with the Powell and Miller families. I got such a sunburn…

Guyana

Accompanied Ruth on a DigitalDemocracy trip to Guyana to see their work in a remote indigenous community.
