Of course, this country has a recent horrific history, which is hard to reconcile with the city’s fun and friendly facade. We visited the genocide museum at Tuol Sleng, and that evening went to a concert by Cambodian Space Project, which resurrects music from the 60s that the Khmer Rouge tried to destroy.
