I keep finding myself in Istanbul, thanks to generous layovers on Turkish Airlines. This is fourth time in ten years, and I now feel like I know at least the European side of the city.
We stayed at the magnificent Marmara Pera hotel, and enjoyed evening strolls on Istikal and dinners at Yeni Lokanta, Zubeyir Ocakbasi and brunch at Privato Cafe. We also enjoyed the excellent Cemberlitas Hammam, and let ourselves buy carpets at 5k Rug Store. The nostalgic tram tracks are back, and the streets felt much more lively than last year. Glad to see this magnificent city coming back.
