An iconic mountain, windswept beaches, and a few neat churches.

Game of Thrones fans and fellow photography nerds will recognize Kirkkjufell mountain. It’s maybe the most classic shot of Iceland, and I’d hoped to see it under the lights. Of course it was raining sideways when we got there; but there’s no such thing as bad luck, only bad gear. Glad I had my Antarctic outerwear and a Peak Design jacket for my weather-sealed Pentax.

We drove all the way around the peninsula, stopping at several other beautiful locations along the way.

Back to Borgarnes for a second dinner at the same pub, since it was so good the first time.
